My newly adopted dog won't eat and seems depressed. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 69 lbs

Brought our sharpei/beagle mix home he won't eat much and lays down alot seems depressed we adopted him from the animal shelter he came there as a stray he seemed happy the first day now he seems sad

Loss of appetite and decreased energy can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Rocco evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam.
