My kitten has a red, goopy eye and I can't afford the vet. What now?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered

My kittens are a week and a half old and one has developed a red goopy eye that looks like blood. I used a warm rag to open it up and it looks disgusting and very painful inside. I don’t have money to go to the vet. What should I do?

Unfortunately, Bear's condition will require veterinary attention. He may require topical antibiotic ointment to help his eye heal. I would try to locate a veterinarian who will accept payments or even contact the humane society and see if they provide low cost veterinary care.
