Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Poodle | Male | neutered | 8 years and 6 months old | 11.3 lbs
I have noticed about a week ago that my dog has a bump/swollen lump next to his penis. it is not very big, oval shaped. It is the colour of his skin and no discharge occurred. This bump a week ago was noticed after he got groomed. My dog is doing everything he would if he did not have this. It’s like he doesn’t even know it’s there. He’s eating properly, going to the bathroom properly and playing properly. I would like some rest to know if it is something minor or nothing to worry about.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be a benign or malignant growth. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. While this could be something benign, there is a possibility of it being malignant which is why it needs to be taken care of. I am really hoping for something benign. Good luck and have a good day!
