My dog has a large open leg wound after cancer surgery. What to do?

My dog had a cancer spot removed on his lower front leg 14 days ago, the removal ended up being larger than vet thought and skin had too much tension so put in tension cuts. Today they removed stitches and now he has a large gaping open hole on leg, he cannot lay down comfortablly and is limping. The hole shows the muscle and he is uncomfortable what can I do for him. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 5 years and 10 months old | 80 lbs
