My dog's chin is raw and oozing pus after neuter. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 61 lbs

After my dog got neutered he had a cone on. Not sure if this could be from bacteria in the cone, rubbing the cone it self, eating bones (taken away for now), or something else all together. He also just turned 1. But under his chin it looks like he has 2 infected bulbs and they are raw from him scratching and they ooze puss and blood every day. He does not like when i clean them. I have been using hydrogen peroxide and polysporne. He also has some bumbs on the side of his mouth and 1 on leg.

It is definitely badly infected, please do not use hydrogen peroxide, it can mainly make this worse, you will need to take him to the vet and Bronx will need to be prescribe a course of antibiotics in order to resolve this infection.
