My baby goat needs a delouser. What food helps rumen development?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Other | Unknown - Other | Male | unneutered | 13 days old

I recently rescued a baby pygmy goat from the mother that wasnt feeding him. Ive bottle fed him to reasonable health using MANNA PRO-KID MILK. He is 13 days old. And I need to know what is a SAFE DELOUSER. And can **HE** eat hay or another food that I can introduce to him to start developing his Rumen. Also our water is heavily milneralized. Please help. Im just trying to help the little guy make it. Every online answer os contradictory. My SINCEREST THANKS for any advice you can give.

You can offer your kid good quality hay at lib and grass. DO not give your kid any other foods (besides the milk replacer, hay and grass. you can also give goat starter. Stick to the instructions on the feed bag. If you think your kid is suffering from lice you can dust it with sulfur powder or use an insecticide such as this: https://www.drugs.com/vet/cylence-pour-on-insecticide.html
