What human foods are safe for my 5-7 week old kitten to eat?

No, you cannot feed a kitten human food. They have very specialized nutritional needs, and should only be fed a kitten formulated food. In addition, many human foods are not safe to feed cats, and are toxic if given. Please only give her a kitten formulated food. Cats can go into heat anytime from six months of age, and then they will want to breed. As for litter training, check out our article on this topic. I will put a link below to it. I'm not 100% sure of what you are asking. When you say "normal food" do you mean human food? If so, then the answer is no - they can't eat human food as their sole source of nutrition. Our food is not balanced for a cat's needs. It is best to feed cat food ESPECIALLY when they are kittens. They can have occasional human food (meats) as a treat but again, not as a sole source of nutrition. If you mean, canned cat food versus dry - either is fine. If you mean adult food versus kitten food - no, kitten food should be fed until they are a minimum of 8 month of age. I hope this answers your question. If the kitten is 1-2 months old than she should be able to eat some regular cat food, especially if you get wet food and add some water to it. Human baby formula is not ideal but if you can't get kitten milk replacer and she is not eating solid food than you could give her some. It would be best to use a kitten formula or just regular cat food. Most kittens than are 2 months old are ready to be weaned from their mothers.

I try mix cat food with cut cook chicken and it didn't work. I got to eat roast beef and she eats it. I try treats and no good. She will human food and nothing else.
That is very rare that a kitten this young will only eat people food. Even canned food such as salmon, turkey and chicken are often irresistible to kittens. I am not sure if you have tried high quality food brands like Royal Canin, Hills science diet or Innova (Evo), but those should be tried as well or you will have a hard time feeding Ryoko as she gets older. She also needs kitten food because it contains added vitamins and minerals including Taurine, which is vital for cats to have in their diet or they are at risk for developing heart disease. At six weeks of age, Roxy should be on her way to weaning, and you can get her used to her dry food by make a kitten mush. I would soak a high quality kitten formulated dry food in water water until soft. Then mix that with kitten formula such as KMR to make a mush the consistency of oatmeal. Over the next two weeks, gradually increase the amount of dry kitten food and decrease the amount of water and KMR you use until she is eating the dry kitten food only. Make sure she has plenty of water at all time, and it's quite easy to litter box train her. Simply put Roxy in the box after she eats, and make a scratching motion in the litter with your finger. She will pick up on it quickly.

At 5 weeks Baby should be old enough to start eating some solid food. You can try mixing some canned kitten food with some kitten formula like KMR and putting it in a shallow dish. If she still won’t eat I would recommend seeing a veterinarian to determine what might be wrong. They can also teach you how to tube feed if necessary.

Savannah won't go into heat for the first time until she is at least six months of age. If you don't plan on breeding her, I recommend having her spayed before then. Cats in heat are very annoying. No, I do not recommend feeding her raw chicken; in fact, I never recommend a raw diet. You can occasionally give her some boiled white meat chicken (no bones) as a treat. Be sure to be feeding her a kitten formulated food so she can get all the nutrients she needs to be healthy. She could keep meowing because she's hungry, and it may be the grain free food isn't satisfying her. I never recommend feeding grain free unless there is a proven allergy to grains, which is actually very rare. You can try feeding her a high quality kitten food such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. I hope this helps!

Hello. I would wait another couple of weeks before introducing them to the rest of the adult cats in the home. You can continue the Tobrex, but if the kitten is still symptomatic, you may need to talk to your vet about either another medication, or reassessing the diagnosis of herpes. A female cat can & will go into heat & get pregnant while nursing an existing litter. Not an ideal situation because this can be really hard on her body. Best to rest her through a couple of heat cycles before rebreeding. Keep doing what you are doing with the kittens & the litter box. They are babies & still rely on mom to clean things up. Is it safe to cut paws of my 20 days old kitten and secondly when should start giving food to my kitten?
It is not safe to cut the paws, however you can carefully clip the tips of the nails when your kitten is about 12 weeks old. At this time it needs its claws to get a grip on the floor for learning how to walk properly. Your kitten will still need kitten milk from the bottle until she is about 6 weeks old. By the time she is 4-5 weeks old you can offer her small amounts of canned kitten food several times a day. She will be a messy eater, so will need to be cleaned after she tries to eat solid food.
