Why did my cat stop using the litter box when my dog tries to use it?

Ever since I got my dog Oreo my cat Gucci has not used the bathroom in her cat litter. I am wondering why. I know my dog Oreo has tried to go in her cat litter so could this be it? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7 lbs

You may need to make the cat litter box completely off limits to your dog. The litter box is supposed to be a 100% safe place for a cat, so if your dog has access to it, your kitty will not feel safe enough to do her business. You may have to fence in the litter box, or put it in a room where you can leave the door open just a crack (and fix it at that width) so that your kitty can get through the door, but the dog cannot.
