My dog had no DAPP reaction. Will future vaccine doses be safe?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 months and 23 days old | 13 lbs

Today he gets second dose of DAPP vaccine. He didn’t show any allergic reaction with first dose. Does this mean he won’t be getting any side effect for this dose and the 3rd (last)?

You are correct. Usually if they are going to have a vaccine reaction it happens when they receive their first one. If they are giving leptospirosis this time or another vaccination such as for Lyme disease or influenza then a reaction is always possible. In general vaccine reactions are quite uncommon and usually mild. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Luke.
