My Persian cat has dark ear gunk & scratches. Mites or infection?

So my 2 yr persian cat has dark substance in his ear and he has small wound because of scratching he has had ear mites before which were cured with the treatment and excessive wax problem should i be worried about his ear now? I use Epiotic for cleaning his ears and pomisol drops once a month

It is possible that Motu may have a bacterial and /or yeast infection of the ear. It is also possible, but less likely that he has been reinfected with ear mites. I would encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian soon. Do not clean the ear so that your veterinarian had debris present to assist in making the diagnosis.
