My cat licked Revolution flea medicine. Is it safe and effective?

I applied Revolution on my cat about 30 mins ago and she’s already licking it off. Will she be okay if she ingests it? Also, if she’s licking it will it still be effective? I put it between her shoulder blades and somehow she’s managing to reach some of it with her tongue.

Not a good idea. Try putting a t-shirt on her for an hour or so until the skin absorbed most. Or you can put an e-collar on her for a little while, if you have one. I cannot tell you if it still will work when it is ingested, but since it is an avermectin it may. Watch for fleas. If fleas show up much earlier than the time it is supposed to last then it is not working. You can repeat the application about 2 weeks from now, if needed. She should be ok even if she ingests it.
