I just got my Australian Shepherd with border collie mix last week and then took her to the vet and he told us she has a heart murmur and left because he was busy. I am now very worried. Are there any ways to tell if it is an innocent heart murmur? Also I have seen that in her resting state she is breathing as if she had run a lot. She is only 7 weeks. What treatment does she need? And how much does it cost? Is it sever if the murmur is visible like I mentioned when she is sleeping? I need advic

Most dogs with a heart murmurs are fine and symptom free, there is no way to know for sure but when she is a little older you can ask your vet to refer you to a cardiology specialist to have a few tests done to check if her heart is in healthy condition.
