My cat is vomiting from hairballs. How can I help him pass stool?

Hello, my Maine Coon cat (a year and half young) has vomited everything he had for the past 24 hours (food, water, even the laxative ointment). Symptoms similar to what happened last Feb when we took him to the vet, spent over $1,000 on emergency check-up, x-rays, I.V., anti-nausea med, pain relief med, etc. It was concluded that the whole thing was a hairball issue. I am trying my best to help him try and pass a stool, which in turn will help him get rid of the hairball in his bowels. Ideas? Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Male | neutered | 1 year and 6 months old | 14.5 lbs

Hello. You can try feeding Leo 1/4 teaspoon of Miralax twice a day & forget about the cat laxative. Many veterinarians do not recommend giving this anymore because it rarely helps. The Miralax works much better. If Leo is not doing better after a day or so of the Miralax, please consider seeing your veterinarian to make sure nothing else is going on.
