My dog has a lump that started under skin. What is it and should I worry?

Theres somthing on my dogs skin that started out just under neath the skin then turned into this ... what is it ?

This lump is a growth of some sort on Winnie. It could be a wart or another type of benign tumor, and there is a very slim chance it could be something malignant. It could also be a cyst. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I'd call the vet on Monday to make an appointment to have this lump examined and diagnosed so it can be treated as needed. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! These could be benign or malignant growths. There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. Although a picture would help to define better the nature of it, generally speaking, this kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, benign or more sinister type of tumors. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Not being able to palpate and see the lump it is hard to say. This could be a cyst, a hematoma, a seroma, an abscess, an encapsulated foreign body, a benign or malignant growth or a muscle problem. Your vet will do a FNA, fine needle aspirate, where material from the mass is harvested, and this will help diagnose the type of mass. Most masses can be removed. No point in worrying yet about what it is. Cross that bridge when you get to it. Your vet will discuss options with you.

Any idea what this is? It was a lump and now it appears something is coming out of it and crusting in his hair.

Not sure what this is but it doesn’t seem to bother her. It’s been there for three days now I’ve put come cream on it so she’s not itching at it.
