Bleeding growth on my 6-month-old puppy's paw? What could it be?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 25 days old | 45 lbs

My 6 month old pup has a growth on her back paw, it appears to be bleeding a little and moves her paw from me when I get near it. I do have an apt tomorrow but wanted to know if anyone has ever seen anything like it.

This is definitely a mass, however it is not possible to say whether it is benign or malign from a photo. Your vet will likely suggest the complete surgical removal of this mass. He may also suggest a biopsy or a fine needle aspirate (FNA) where some tissue of the mass is removed and then either sent in to a laboratory or examined under the microscope. This will help determine whether this is a malignant mass or a harmless one.
