Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered
My dog who weights 6.9kg ate 50g chocolate on friday morning at half 10 he went to vets at 5.00pm on friday and they said his heart rate was fine just to keep an eye on him. Hes been active enough and no sickness or diarrhea. Will he be ok or is he still in a danger zone?

Good on you for taking Coco into the vet when he ate chocolate! That was the best thing to do for him. Typically it can take up to 24 hours for signs of chocolate toxicity to occur, so if it's been longer than 24 hours since he ingested it, then I would say yes, he is ok :-)

That is good that you haven't noticed any signs. Toxicity is dependent on type of chocolate and dose. Here is a website with a toxicity meter so you can judge if the amount is toxic. http://www.petmd.com/dog/chocolate-toxicity?mobi_bypass=true

Symptoms of chocolate toxicity typically show up four to 24 hours after ingestion. These signs include vomiting, diarrhea, restlessness, increased heart rate, rapid breathing, muscle tension, and seizures. The good news is that milk chocolate is the least toxic type of chocolate, and if Chloe ate only a small amount and it's been 24 hours since she ate it, she is likely fine. In the future, I would never give her any chocolate again. If it's been less than 24 hours, I would monitor her for the signs of chocolate toxicity I mentioned above, and if you see any, take her into a vet right away.

It can take up to 24 hours for signs of chocolate toxicity to be seen, and if chocolate toxicity occurs depends on the weight of your dog, how much was eaten, and the type of chocolate. I'd take your dog into a vet now to get treated for chocolate toxicity to be safe,
