A dog should not be bathed more than once a month, but you can do it more often if Sugar is dirty. Because bathing too often strips their skin of their natural oils, it should not be anymore than once a week if he's dirty. As for bathing a cat, no I don't recommend it. Cats hate water and bathes, and it's very stressful for them. I only recommend doing it if they are extremely dirty, such as having poop stuck on their rear end. I hope this helps!

I would not recommend giving a cat a bath more often than every 4-6 weeks at a time with a sensitive feline shampoo. You run the risk of disrupting the normal flora on the skin and causing unnecessary dryness. If Smoky is going to be an outdoor cat, understandably they can become very dirty at times and may require more frequent bathing.

Hi there! Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Even though you could potentially bathe him once monthly, this is generally not needed and you could do it every other month. You could consider waterless shampoo which you can get at your local pet store. This allows you to bathe him without the use of water at times that he gets dirty like that in between regular baths. I haven't been bathing my cat at all and i want to start now. How often should i bathe her and how do you bathe her?
Cats shouldn't be bathed more often than once every 6-8 weeks if needed. You can have her groomed by a professional groomer so she doesn't associate the stress of bathing with you. If this is not an option, bathe her when she is most calm. Trim her nails and brush her first. Your veterinarian or groomer can show you how to trim nails if necessary. Use a cat approved shampoo. Place a mat in the the sink or tub for traction so she doesn't slip. Place cotton balls in her ears to prevent water getting in them. If you have sterile plain eye lubricant, instill in both eyes to protect from soap. Fill the container with 3-4 inches of water. Wet her down, lather her up and rinse thoroughly. Wrap her in a thick towel and dry her completely. Remove the cotton balls from her ears, wipe her face and give her a final brushing. If she won't allow bathing, use plain unscented baby wipes or pet wipes. These can also be used to spot clean between baths.

Excessive bathing can dry out Honey's skin, getting rid of natural oils that make their coat soft and healthy which may cause more harm than good. Hi there and thanks for posting! Dogs do not need frequent baths unlike us humans. Their fur and hair have natural oils that can be stripped away if bathed frequently. I'd say bathing every 1-2 months should be sufficient. I hope this helps!

Some dogs only need to be bathed once every 1-2 months while others do better with more frequent bathing. I generally don't recommend bathing more than once a week since it can lead to dry skin. If Suzy has a dermatologic issue your vet might recommend bathing more frequently.

Cats definitely do not require regular bathing as cats do an excellent job of grooming themselves. If his cat is not grooming itself, there is most likely some sort of health issue causing this. this would extremely unusual for a little kitten. If he dose decide to bathe his kitty regularly, he has the potential of drying out the skin depending on how often he does this. He also will have to make sure he chooses an appropriate shampoo for dogs / cats. I have owned three cats for the last six years and have never bathed a single one of them once.
