Found a sick hedgehog in my garden, what should I do to help?

Hello. We have a hedgehog in our garden. He was moving very slowly. We’ve left him some water and wet cat food but he’s walked away from it in to an open space. He really doesn’t seem very well. Is there anything we can do?

Oh my, he does looks quite sick. He looks quite old as well. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do at home for him. If you wanted to give him the best chance at survival you would need to get him to a vet for an exam. Hopefully the vet will be able to treat him (depending on what he has going on). If they cannot treat him or he has a life-threatening illness then they can at least humanely euthanize him so he doesn't suffer. Thank you for looking out for this little guy. Best wishes.
