Norik eats only in the evening around 7pm every day, normal amount of food. He refused to eat in the morning. Is it normal?

Some dogs have their own schedule in terms of eating. We have dogs that graze throughout the day small amounts, dogs that will eat any food in front of them immediately to the point of making themselves sick, and other dogs like yours that may just eat at certain times. As long as your vet thinks your dog's weight is appropriate/ their growth is acceptable and Norik is not having diarrhea or vomiting then I wouldn't be concerned. I would recommend if Norik hasn't been to the vet recently for his vet to examine him and be sure he is of an appropriate weight.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! As long as Norik is not vomiting, having diarrhea and isn't too thin or losing weight it is okay that he does this. It probably isn't "normal" but tolerable. Norik probably has underlying intestinal inflammation due to food allergies or inflammatory bowel disease. You can try a food that is for sensitive stomachs or a novel protein (no chicken) and see if that improves his morning appetite. Also breaking up his evening meal: half at the normal time and the other half right before bed may help with any acid reflux from an empty stomach. I also fine, with my own dog, that adding water makes it more appealing. I wish Norik the best!
