Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 5 years and 5 months old

She has idiopathic epilepsy but she hasn't had any seizures for 3 months She used to have them every 2-3 weeks but changing her diet helped I'm making an appointment to finally have her spayed I'm just wondering if thered be any complications with being put under for surgery Its just a walk in clinic not her vet so I cant really talk to the vet there Ill still double check when I go there with the vet tech

You should really have her spayed at the clinic where Gracie's medical history is known. That said, it is important that the vet who does the spay knows about her epilepsy, since it might influence which anesthesia the vet will use. We have many different ways of anesthetizing dogs, so there is a way to individualize the procedure according to need. I would insist on having a talk with the surgeon.
