My dog ate rotten meat with worms. What should I do if he gets sick?

My dog had buried a piece of meat a few days ago but had just found ur recently in the garden, the meat smelled awful and their were a large amount of worms in the meat, my concern is that my dog ate that piece of meat. Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | 6 months and 17 days old

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yuck! Well if Maxie ate any of it she will likely vomit. If she is acting fine I wouldn't worry. If she vomits fast her for 12 hours and start a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day for 3-5 days. He will not be the first nor the last dog to eat a rotten carcass or meat. I wish you the best!
