My dog has many areas over his body where it’s very red and on top has a yellow type of scab.

This usually occurs due to a bacterial infection (pyoderma). Dogs commonly have an underlying problem like allergies, or a lowered immune system that allows for these infections to start. In order to discover the underlying cause, it's best to have a vet evaluate Oddie. They can also ensure he gets the necessary treatment. For now, I recommend cleaning him with a medicated shampoo (can get this at the pet store) once a day until the redness and crusts are gone. If it seems to get worse, then you'll want to take Oddie into the vet as soon as possible to get the appropriate treatment. Below is a link to an article with more information about pyoderma. https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/pyoderma-in-dogs I hope that helps and Oddie gets better soon.
