Why is my dog throwing up white chunks and acting very lethargic?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 4 years and 5 months old | 24 lbs

My 4yr old dogs been throwing up since last night. About 5 times today. Had white chunks. Dont know what that is. Just had water. Threw it up 3 minutes later. As day has gone on he's very lethargic.

I am sorry to hear about Sam. It sounds like he is not feeling well at all. There are many different possible causes of vomiting in dogs. Some of the most common include ingestion of foreign objects, pancreatitis, ingestion of toxins, gastroenteritis, and more. Due to the fact that he is very lethargic I would recommend taking him in to see a vet as soon as possible- to an emergency clinic if one is in your area if you feel he is very lethargic and continues to vomit. Do not offer anymore food and water tonight as he will likely just vomit it back up. The vet will examine him and may recommend x-rays or bloodwork to help determine a cause for vomiting and will most likely give injectable medication to stop the vomiting and IV fluids to help rehydrate poor Same.

    It's not urgent to the point of taking him right away but he should see a vet today at some point as the vomiting will need to be treated and this is obviously a very uncomfortable condition for him.

Diarrhea and throwing up can have many causes. It is basically a problem with the stomach and intestines caused by a food over sensitivity, eating something that does not agree with the dog, intestinal parasites, bacterial infection, viral infection, the weather, food change, stress, etc.  I would fast Sam for 12 hours and then put him on bland food for two days, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to his regular food slowly over a few days. If this does not clear up the diarrhea or if the vomiting increases, or if he gets lethargic, he needs to see a veterinarian for an exam as there may be something more serious such as an infection going on.

My dog is vomiting and is sleeping all day. What could be wrong with her?
There are many causes for [vomiting](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/vomiting-1/) and lethargy in dogs. Your dog could have a severe GI illness, [pancreatitis](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/canine-pancreatitis), a foreign body causing an [obstruction](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/bowel-obstruction-in-dogs), or may have eaten something rotten. I recommend withhold food for 12-24 hours, and then feeding her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice in small amounts for several times a day. After a couple of days of the bland diet, you can slowly add back in her normal diet. If she continues to vomit in the absence of food, vomits the bland diet, stops drinking water and vomiting water, has diarrhea, and/or becomes very lethargic, you need to take her into your vet immediately.

My dog just vomit yellow liquid with some of his food out, 3 hours before he just vomit clear water, about 28hrs before hand he did vomit clear water as well. But his still eating, drinking, and still playing his toy. The only changes recently is
I am sorry to hear about Sam. Repeated vomiting is not normal, and I would be concerned there is something else going on here. If Sam is a dog who gets into trash or has a sensitive stomach he may just have a case of gastritis from this, and a period of fasting and reintroduction with a bland diet may help. If his vomiting persists or he becomes lethargic/weak or develops diarrhea, he should be seen by his vet for examination.

Our dog Sammy isn't eating very much and just seems so depressed lately. We tried to mix some tuna in her food and she's barwly touching it. She has thrown up at least once and it was yellow and foamy. What are some things that could be wrong with
HI, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I am sorry Sammy is sick! There are many reasons for vomiting. Since Sammy is not spayed, anytime a female intact dog is sick, we worry fist about an infected uterus (pyometra). A pyometra is a surgical emergency. Other causes of vomiting and decreased appetite are: viral or bacterial infections, foreign body ingestion (something is stuck), dietary indiscretion (she ate something gross), intestinal parasites, toxin ingestion, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, food sensitivities or food allergies and metabolic issues (liver or kidney disease). I recommend that you take her to the Vet today, since it is Friday. The Vet will perform a physical exam and after will likely recommend blood work and/or belly X-rays. I hope this helps and I wish Sammy a speedy recovery!

My dog threw up last night and this morning and now has been walking backwards but is now just laying around acting morose.
Poor Wally! Vomiting can be caused by a large number of conditions such as intestinal parasites, pancreatitis, foreign bodies, and dietary indiscretion. Most of these conditions are fairly dangerous, and are possible causes for vomiting/lethargy lasting close to 24 hours. Your vet can perform bloodwork and x-rays, as well as an ultrasound to rule out the conditions above. In the meantime, I recommend keeping a close eye on Wally, and offering him small amounts of water and food (about 1/2 of his normal portion). My dog is vomiting lethargic sense Sunday night. hasn't gotten any better
Your pup is so cute, but I'm sorry that he isn't doing well! There could be a number of things causing his symptoms such as parvovirus if he isn't fully vaccinated, GI illness, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or pancreatitis among others. Given that he has been vomiting and has been lethargic since Sunday and isn't getting better, I'd recommend a vet visit for him right away. The vet can diagnose what is causing his symptoms, and can treat him for it. Please take him into a vet now.

my dog has been throwing up yellowish foam for the past 3 hours. he is drinking water, but not eating. he has been a little lethargic, shaky and is making a wheezing sound when he exhales.
I would recommend that Gleason get checked out by a vet. Common causes of vomiting in dogs include dietary intolerance, dietary indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. After examination, the vet may recommend bloodwork or x-rays to determine the cause of the vomiting. At the very least, he could receive an anti-nausea shot to give him comfort and you could watch him to see if the vomiting comes back. If it does, then he definitely needs to be re-evaluated to determine the cause.

My dog has been lethargic and throwing up white foam he won't eat or drink for the past 24 hrs
It sounds as Romeo is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

My dog has been limping, extra lethargic, and puked since going to the dog park this morning and does not want to eat either.
It sounds as though Samson may have injured himself while playing at the dog park. He could have a sprain or strain of one of his muscles or ligaments in his joints. He may have over done it at the park and become slightly overheated as well. Make sure he has plenty of access to water and a comfortable place to rest for the night. If he continues being lethargic, limping and/or vomiting over the weekend I would recommend taking him to be checked out by your vet on Monday.

Possible causes of vomiting include GI illness, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or a pancreatitis. Without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain what is causing his vomiting, but I can say that when a dog is vomiting for longer than 24 hours, it's time to see a vet. I would take Scooby into a vet now to diagnose what is causing his vomiting so he can be treated. I hope this helps!
