How to help a sick stray cat bleeding in my yard I can't catch?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 lbs

URGENT!!! There is kitten that we look after in our yard who is probably 6 months old. She is an ordinary stray cat, pretty wild. She is very scared of us but also meows at us to give her food. If there is no food she just sleeps in the yard usually. Yesterday she slept all day then when she got up i saw blood coming out of her butt and she cant walk and jump properly like she used. Today her eyes got clouded. I cant take her to the vet bc i cant catch her. She disappears... what should i do?

You should be able to borrow a Have a Heart trap or other safe trap to catch her. Then you can take her in the trap to get treated. Put food inside the trap and leave it near to where she is. When it’s dark and she’s hungry she should go inside and won’t be able to escape. This Is safe for both you and her. Once she’s treated they may spay her and release her back to your area. That depends on things in your country. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care this stray cat.
