Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 13 years and 3 months old | 10.5 lbs
A little bump started growing in the inner corner of my cat's eye about a year ago, and her doctor said that we didn't need to worry about it. It has recently got a bit larger and it seems sensitive to touch. Just wondering if we should have it removed. My cat is 13 and we don't want her to go through surgery if it's not something malignant.

Hello. This is very likely a benign tumor. I have a personal cat that has almost the exact same tumor on his chin that I am watching, too. But this is awful close to the eye, & if it gets any bigger, it may rub on the cornea. If you were my client, I would recommend removal. At 13, if your cat is relatively healthy with no underlying problems seen on bloodwork, then the surgery should go very smoothly. I would consider having it removed soon. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
