Why is my pregnant cat lazy, not eating, and has a low temperature?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 12 lbs

My cat is pregnant she is at 62 days now and very large. The babies were very active but her stomach has gotten a bit hard and now the babies only move a little bit. Today she hasn’t eaten she has only been drinking water and very lazy. Her temperature is at 96.5 I’ve been told that is low so I’m wondering if she is okay?

96.5 is indeed low, however in order to verify this one would need to know your cat's individual normal temperature and also take the temperature with another thermometer, to make sure that the first one is working properly, At this time I would say she will have her kittens within the next 12-24 hours, especially if she is making/leaking milk. If your cat appears lethargic, or ill, you should take her to a vet for a quick exam just to make sure that she is ok.
