Why is my cat constantly in heat? Is it normal for her health?

MY CAT IS CONSTANTLY ON HEAT SINCE LAST 5 MONTHS!! IS IT NORMAL? My cat is of 2 years n 10 months old, she isn't spayed. she does go out n has no other cats friend. she went on heat when she was 9 months old, but after going on heat for couple of times she never got on heat up-til last November. since November she is going on heat constantly twice a month. i just want to know is it normal? she is a Turkish Angora breed.

Yes, cats constantly go in heat if they are not bred. I recommend spaying her so this doesn’t happen. Constantly going in and out of heat can cause problems. She may develop breast cancer later in life from the constant hormonal swings. She can also get a uterine infection that is very serious and could become life threatening. I recommend breeding her if you want kittens, otherwise spaying her is best for her health. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Ollie.
