My dogs share a bowl. Why do they eat one side before the other?

I have 2 dogs and they share a food bowl I will fill it up and they eat it on and off thru out the day but it’s strange they both start on one side and eat it to the bottom then they will eat the other side why do they do this. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 3 months old | 50 lbs

We may never know why some dogs do this! My dog will also do this sometimes. I don't think there is any specific medical reason for it. I think it is just personality, similar to why some humans finish all of one item on their plate before moving to the next. I hope this helps!
