Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund miniature | Male | neutered | 6 months and 6 days old | 10 lbs
My dog licks me obsessively. He’s been doing this since we brought him home, and we have no idea why he does this. Sometimes he gets so into that if I try to take my arm away, he grabs onto it (as if he wanted to well, hump it. But he doesn’t hump) and continues to lick it. Why does he do this?

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. This is strictly behavioral most likely. There are things you can do to deter him from this behavior such as bitter apple spray and apply it to the area on your body that he licks the most. I would also consider using a spray bottle filled with water and when he does this behavior, spray him in the face and say "off!". These two techniques worked well for my dog when he was exhibiting the exact same problems and has worked well for other clients of mine that I have recommended these techniques to. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
