My dog is shaking, won't eat, sneezing, and hiding. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 5 lbs

I don’t know what is wrong with my dog, he is shaking, moaning, won’t eat or drink like he looks scared of it, he’s kind of sneezing a lot at different times and he tries to hide. He calms down when I pet him but when I stop he starts sneezing or something again.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Rocco. I'm sorry to hear he is not feeling well. It is possible he has an upper respiratory tract infection. This will cause sneezing and can affect a dog's appetite. He could also be painful somewhere causing him to shake and hide. He will need to see his veterinarian to determine the exact cause of his symptoms and start him on treatment. Good luck!
