Hi, I have short hair chihuahuas and i noticed they have a lot of fur. I also know mindy and dove have allergies. Can having excess fur also cause them to itch a lot? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 3 years and 7 months old | 4 lbs

Yes, excess fur can itch a lot, especially if dead hair does not fall out easily, You should brush and comb them every day. If you think the undercoat is very thick, you can use a furminator to remove a lot of the undercoat. Be careful not to make your dogs naked!
