Dog's belly bruised by baby gate, acting normal. Should I worry?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 71 lbs

Our dog got her belly caught on the bottom of a baby gate. No bleeding and she is acting normal-eating, playing, etc., but she has a bruise on the soft part of her belly. Should we be worried

Poor Emma Jane! She likely got the bruise from trying to get out from under the baby gate. Given that she is otherwise acting normal, I wouldn't be worried. Should the bruise get bigger, appear to get worse than better, stops eating, and/or becomes very lethargic, then I would be concerned and have her seen by a vet right away. Hopefully however, she will be just fine :-)

My dog seems to have a large bruise on its stomach which is blue and red. Many sites have said that this is dangerous. She is in no pain at the moment and seems to be fine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like there might be a small puncture near the bruised area? This would mean that Rosie was bitten on the abdomen. These types of injuries could be associated with internal damage, and should warrant immediate veterinary care. If there is no wound, then I would still be concerned about the sudden appearance of a bruise. Bruises can form if there is a bleeding or clotting issue or internal bleeding.

My dog went to the vet two days ago. Everything came back normal. Blood and poop test. He went to the vet today. And Now I found a bruise on his belly.
Hello, Its hard to give you definitive advise, because this could be nothing or something. Most likely, t could also be a simple insect bite or minor trauma that resolves on its own within a couple of days. However, I'd recommend monitoring that bruise for any changes and the rest of his skin and gums for new bruising or bleeding. Mysterious bruises can be a sign of blood disorders. If Charlie experiences any additional bruising, bleeding, or changes in appetite or behavior, I'd recommend taking him to the vet right away. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Okay. I just posted, reposting just to make sure. His behavior is normal. He doesn't seem to be in any pain. He just had surgery a few days ago on his back to remove a lump (no where near the area in the picture) He did have a barrage wrapped around
OK, that is a valuable piece of history and makes me much less concerned. A tight bandage could explain the bruising and certain drugs used during the surgery could account for it. If Danny is doing OK and acting normally, then no need to rush off to the emergency vet. I would just call your vet that did the surgery and ask to have them check it out at their next availability.

Hi there! Thanks for using Boop by Petco! In theory any sort of blunt trauma on the abdomen can cause internal bleeding. However, in reality, it requires a good amount of force which from your description it does not seem to be the case. I recommend you keep a close eye on Jax for any signs of bleeding or just any traumatic injury from this event. Signs you would watch for include severe weakness, lethargy, pale gums and/or collapse. If observed, having examined right away. If he is fine after the next 24-48 hours, in all likelihood he will be just fine. Good luck with your boy!

My Great Dane/ lab mix has a red/white jewel. Only one of the little ones. I’m not sure what it is? Can you help?
This looks little normal anatomy but like it is bruised. He likely bites on it causing it to be bruised. I would watch it closely to ensure it doesn’t get bigger. If it stays red and bruised looking, I would ha e your vet look at it to ensure it isn’t infected. I hope This helps!

Yes, I would be worried that that is a bruise. I recommend to take her quickly into your veterinarians office to check for any internal bleeding. Some bruising after this type of procedure can be expected, but depending on Daisy's type of liver disease, clotting disorders could be possible. I would recommend calling your vet to see if she needs to be evaluated ASAP or if it is fine to continue monitoring at home.

Following on that last question? If there was problems because it was kinda a hard elbow push against his stomachs where there was no bones just intensities what should I be worried for. Not hard where I feel off and fell on my elbow on him. Sorry I'
if Jaxx is otherwise acting normal, eating, drinking, urinating and defecating normally, and no bruising along the belly then there isn't anything to worry yourself over. He likely will be just fine. If you however are overly concerned then a quick exam by your vet can be done to clear him for any major injuries. Best wishes and I hope everything works out well for Jaxx.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Chewy. Yes, this area does appear to have a bruise. However, bruising is not common in dogs and can indicate a bleeding disorder. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian today. Bloodwork should be tested. I hope this information helps!

My dog has a red mark on her belly
That looks like it may be a bruise, scrape or abrasion. You can gently clean it with a diluted Betadine or chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) solution if it is a minor abrasion. If she's licking at it, place an e-collar (cone) on her. It should heal on it's own in a few days. If it is a bruise, monitor it for spread. Look for bruising elsewhere, such as the ear flaps or gums. See your veterinarian if it spreads or if she develops lethargy.
