My four-year-old bully Chihuahua mix has lost his ability to bark. He is not himself and I need to know what this could be and what to do.

Hi, and thanks for your question. This sign could be compatible with an upper respiratory tract inflammation/infection or possibly to a laryngeal/pharyngeal inflammation. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed.
