My cat's chin sores aren't healing. Is it feline acne? Does she need a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Nebelung | Female | spayed | 9 lbs

Our cat has sores under her chin. Despite me cleaning them and using neosporin and enzyme ointment, they aren’t healing. I think it’s feline chin acne and she may need an antibiotic.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding September. I agree that she may have feline acne. If so, oral antibiotics will likely be necessary to help her heal. She will need to see a veterinarian to determine if this is the case and for a prescription to help her heal. I hope this information helps!
