Why is my 6-month-old kitten in pain and has vaginal discharge?

My female kitten dallas, is about 6 months old and she seems in pain. Growling when I get too close to her belly and she has been licking her vagina more often and it looks like there is discharge coming from it, her belly is shaking sometimes too

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Dallas. Poor girl! A discharge from her vagina isn't normal and this can be a sign of something serious like a pyometra. While she is a young cat, this can happen in cats her age, and it would cause her a lot of pain. It could also be she has a bladder issue. I would take her into a vet as soon as possible to have this diagnosed and treated. Taking her into an ER vet now would be best. I hope this helps!
