Why does my dog have a hard swollen nose bump from his crate

Question

I came home from work and my dog, who has been in a crate, has a big hard swollen bump on his nose. He has allergies (we aren’t sure what to yet, working on treatment for that) but is showing no other signs of allergies other than some redness in the face. I gave him Benadryl just Incase, and the swelling has not gone down. It doesn’t appear to be painful at all. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 62 lbs

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Alfie. Poor pup. He may have hit his nose on the crate causing this bump. I'd keep an eye on him tonight, and if the bump is still there in the morning, I'd have him checked out by a vet. Best of luck.
