Pet's info: Bird | Conure | Male | unneutered | 5 months old
My bird threw up today, I think it’s because my sister fed him/her too much pecans, or it could be he ate kind of two fast when he saw seeds(I’m trying to convert him into eating pellets). According to my sister’s description, the vomit contains some sticky yellow stuff and undigested small pieces of pecans. Is this just him regurgitating or he throwing up? And should I take him to a vet? Thank you!

Thanks for reaching out about Ivy. Over-eating can be a cause of regurgitation, but other causes are possible. Metabolic diseases (liver, kidney), infections, ingested foreign bodies or toxins, gastrointestinal obstructions are just a few of the possibilities. If occurs again or Ivy appears ill, a veterinary visit is highly recommended. Good luck.
