Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 4 years and 10 months old | 85 lbs
My dog has started licking her feet and wrists constantly. I don't see any thorns or obvious reason, and she's licking both feet. What could be the issue? She's on a hypoallergenic prescription food and this behavior is new (about a week).

Sudden licking can indicate exposure to an allergen (maybe she go some food that fell on the floor or got a treat she is reacting to?), development of a new allergy (like something in the environment) or an infection in the feet. Since Taurie already has a history of allergies and this is a new behavior, have her examined by the veterinarian. Also have her wear an elizabthean collar at al times since the licking could cause/worsen an infection. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
