Found a wild gecko from Taiwan. Can I keep it as a pet legally?

Hello, I work in a warehouse and found a gecko on a palette all the way from Taiwan. I live in Birmingham, uk and wondered if he is okay to keep as I pet. I know how to care for him was just curious if it’s okay for me to keep.

Thanks for reaching out about Churp. This sounds like a question for your local federal animal health agency. They really should be contacted. Even though there are few diseases transmissible from reptiles, it is better to be certain. Good luck.
