My cat might have licked human shampoo. Should I be worried?

One of my cats knocked over human shampoo and I dont know if they licked any of it. I was asleep when it happened and i woke up to shampoo on the floor will they be okay if they licked some of it ???

I am sorry to hear about your concern for your kitty! Ingesting a small amount of shampoo (provided it isnt' a medicated kind) would not be likely to cause any poisoning/toxicity in your kitty, but could cause some stomach upset. I would just recommend monitoring her appetite and energy level and watching for vomiting. If you notice changes in these then a visit to your vet is recommended.

    Great question! Simon should be ok. More than likely, you got most of the shampoo off of him, and if he did ingest any, it would be a small amount and not likely to cause any problems. You could see something like drooling from him, which is a sign of nausea. At worst, you maybe could see some vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite, but I suspect he will be ok. If you do see any concerning signs, have him seen by his vet. I hope this helps!
