Why are my dogs lethargic, not eating for days, and losing weight?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered

My dogs have been acting weird. They have not eaten for 3 days and they used to eat a lot. I know it is bad that we wait for three days to notice something was weird. They have been sleeping most of the time, never want to move. We have to drag them just to put them outside when we leave. They used to be hyperactive, just all over me, scratching me but I am worried about them, Princess has lost weight and i am afraid of Alec losing weight. What is wrong with them?

If they are all acting this way, I'd be worried they have something contagious or got into something toxic. You are right, three days is a long time not to eat, and its now become very serious. Please take them into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
