My parakeet is regurgitating while molting. Is this normal behavior?

Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | unneutered

Hello, my parakeet has been regurgitating some. He does normally regurgitate when singing to his toys but has been doing it at other times too now. He is currently molting and this happened last time he molted too, so I was wondering if this could be normal molting behavior for him? His poop looks fine, still eating and drinking. He is a little more quiet than usual and napping slightly more but he also does that normally during molts. Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out about Loki. Regurgitation can have a long list of causes including stress, metabolic disorders, hormones, infections, toxicities and ingested foreign bodies, to list a few. What is slightly worrisome is the lethargy and sleepiness. Molting can also be a result of illness, and this is not the typical season for molting. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan and also to review diet and husbandry. Good luck.
