What is this hard bump on my cat's jawline? Is it a bone spur?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | 4 years and 6 months old | 21 lbs

I have noticed a while ago that my cat has a small bump on the edue of his jaw line . I guess I would describe it as feeling like a bone spur. It does not bother him. I attached a picture and the spur is about 3/4 way forward from the back of his mouth. Right on the very edge of jaw line where the white fur ends. It's almost like a finish nail or pin head. Do you have any idea what this is? Is it a bump on his bone he was born with? Thanks Blessings to everyone there.

It's hard to see from the picture, and this is likely something that is better felt than seen on a picture. Because I can't see Snoops in person, I do think it's a good idea to get it checked by a vet to be safe. I hope this helps!
