My rabbit's urine is clear, but she's healthy. Is it kidney disease?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed | 7 months and 1 day old | 1.35 lbs

My rabbit has been having clear urine, it is odorless and also clear. Took her for a check up and she is in great health. They were talking to me about kidney disease but I am not sure that is the issue. What do you think?

Thanks for reaching out about Sunnie. Dilute urine (clear) can have multiple reasons, only one of which is renal disease. Kidney disease is much more common in older rabbits that young. But drinking lots of water behaviorally or eating vegetables with a high water content can create result in dilute urine, and is not a health concern. A urinalysis can be suggestive of an urinary tract disease but could also return normal. Good luck.
