Why does my cat refuse to walk on carpet and climb to avoid it?

My cat refuses to walk on the carpet. She will climb other structures like tables and such to avoid the carpet. Why is that? Pet's info: Cat | Pixiebob Longhair | Female | spayed | 15 lbs

It may be that the carpet feels uncomfortable on her paws! Putting a rug down and seeing if she will walk on that may encourage her to get used to it over time. Otherwise, making sure she has the ability to get across rooms in an alternative fashion may help keep Baby comfortable.
