Does my healthy 10-year-old indoor dog need her vaccinations?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Weimaraner | Female | spayed | 10 years and 6 months old | 60 lbs

My dog is 10 yrs old and in perfect health. 60 lbs and an inside pet. She is due for shots, which I don’t think she needs. Is it necessary for her to get them?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Abby. The rabies vaccine is required by law so this vaccine is absolutely necessary. I recommend keeping her current on her other vaccines as well. The annual exam is just as important to ensure that she stays healthy especially as she ages. I recommend a scheduling an appointment with her veterinarian to discuss risk factors in your area based on her lifestyle. From there, you can decide together on vaccinating her. I hope this information helps!
