My puppy has black pimples on her ears. Is it allergies or something else?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Morkie | Female | unspayed | 2 years old | 10 lbs

Puppy had a black head/pimple on the outer edge of her ear. I thought it was a thorn and pulled it out. Now she has a scab on that ear and got the same black head/pimple thing on her other ear. When i pulled i didnt see a tic nor a mite or traces of it. What can it be? Allergies?

This is not a tick but a very localized inflammation which can possibly be due to a small trauma, an infection or allergies (only if she is scratching here and somewhere else in the body otherwise is not likely at all). At this stage, disinfection can be done at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any scratching (if any).
