How to clean a neutered cat with poop on cone without bathing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 6 months and 23 days old | 7.27 lbs

I just got my cat neutered two days ago and last night, he managed to get poop all over his backside and his cone. The vet told me not to bathe him for two weeks. He can't clean himself. So what should I do?

Kitties can be so naughty post surgery. Although it is not advised to do a full body bath, you can use a waterless shampoo and kitten wipes from your local pet store to get him clean. As long as the inicision site itself stays dry you are ok. Best of luck keeping kitty clean! : ) Take care.
