Why is my rescue dog's face droopy and teats swollen after litter?

Pet's info: Dog | Welsh Springer Spaniel | Female | unspayed | 20 lbs

I’ve just taken in a four-year-old female Springer Spaniel who has not long had her second litter the owner didn’t want her anymore her teats are still quite swollen and the left side of her face seems different to the right not to look at left eyelid doesn’t seem to blink left side of mouth drool drooling when drinking and eating

Poor girl! It sounds like she may have edema (fluid filled skin), which can be caused by an infection somewhere. Also if she is unable to blink I suspect some kind of trauma to her nerve or even a stroke event could be the cause. At any rate your newly acquired pet Gypsy certainly needs a good exam by your vet to start. Some bloodwork also is likely needed if she does have confirmed edema. She may need further testing and referral to a specialist if her condition seems to be related to a nerve injury or possible stroke. I do hope that your pet Gypsy gets well soon!
