Dog sleepy after anesthesia: Is not eating or drinking normal after surgery?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 53 lbs

My dogs anal gland ruptured and she went through the procure of getting it drained where they put her under, she’s been out of it since I picked her up, it’s been almost 5 hours, how long will she be acting drugged up? Is it normal for her to not want to eat or drink water ?

Anesthesia can make a dog quite sleepy. She should be back to normal in the morning. And yes, it is normal to see a decrease in appetite and a decrease in drinking water. Again, this should be normal in the morning. If it's not, you will need to take her back into the vet.
