Dog sleepy after anesthesia: Is not eating or drinking normal after surgery?

My dogs anal gland ruptured and she went through the procure of getting it drained where they put her under, she’s been out of it since I picked her up, it’s been almost 5 hours, how long will she be acting drugged up? Is it normal for her to not want to eat or drink water ? Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 53 lbs

Anesthesia can make a dog quite sleepy. She should be back to normal in the morning. And yes, it is normal to see a decrease in appetite and a decrease in drinking water. Again, this should be normal in the morning. If it's not, you will need to take her back into the vet.
